Challenge:
A crucial part of any film's success is the publicity machine behind it. The producers of 'Supersize Me'
hired Dave Magdael, president of TC: DM & Associates, to publicize their new documentary about to
have its premiere at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. Magdael set out to generate as much media
coverage as he could, on a tight marketing budget and in a short amount of time.
The image.net Solution:
As the official publicity distribution service for Sundance, image.net moved into action to support
Magdael. Within one hour of receiving materials, image.net was able to provide high quality, high
resolution images to news media worldwide.
Media were directed to the image.net site and their requests for materials were handled the same day.
No delays, no rush charges, no frustrated press. Just worldwide coverage. 'Supersize Me' photos
downloaded directly from image.net could be seen in Time Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, The Sunday
Mirror, People, and a full page blow-up on the front page of the entertainment section of The New
York Post.
Within a week, hundreds of photos and background notes had been downloaded by news media around
the globe. That's hundreds fewer press kits to duplicate and mail, messenger or airfreight. All cost
savings directly to the producers.
Testimonial:
'Having image.net be our "high res" photo shop for our films made our lives easier
when dealing with photos that publications needed to get from our films. image.net made our
jobs even less hectic.'
--Dave Magdael, President, TC: DM & Associates
